Sophia graduated in 2014 with a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine after completing a primary honours degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. She started her career off in mixed practice before joining Gilabbey Veterinary Hospital undertaking a surgical internship. Following this she spent a year in a busy small animal hospital in Birmingham UK before returning to Ireland where she continued to develop her expertise at Gilabbey. Sophia joined the Sunbeam Team as Head of Referrals in January 2024 and looks forward to working with our referral vets and pets.
Sophia is the first and only vet in Ireland to hold a post graduate Certification of Advanced Studies in Veterinary Neurology. She also has extra training and qualifications in Veterinary Acupuncture. She loves all aspects of veterinary especially diagnostic imaging, surgery and neurology.
Outside of work she enjoys time horse riding and competing in Dressage and spending time with her hubby, her two children and their many Newfoundland dogs.
