David Hotchkiss DVM DPhil MChem MRSC MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon

David graduated from the University of Oxford in 2004 before completing his doctorate in Organic Chemistry in 2007. He worked for 10 years in the oil and gas industry before deciding that a career change was needed and moved to Budapest at the age of 35 to read his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.

Graduating in February 2023 he has been working in small animal first opinion practice for over a year now, having gained previous experience in mixed practice and equine medicine. David particularly enjoys working on internal medicine cases which present diagnostic and treatment challenges and has a passion for long term care of chronic endocrine cases. He enjoys both soft tissue surgery and diagnostic medicine and heads up our Passage West branch.

David is proficient at performing routine ultrasound scanning, X-ray radiology, castrations, spays, lumpectomies, laparotomies, mammary strips, various routine dental procedures, aural haematoma repairs and cherry eye surgeries.

Outside of work David enjoys hiking, swimming, ballet and going to the gym. He has a five-year-old Border Collie called Max and a cat called Tom with his partner, Gabor.
